U.S. NRC Panel Discusses Limiting Future Climate Change
The principal conclusion of our report is that the country needs both a prompt and a sustained national commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
– Robert W. Fri, Chair of the Panel on Limiting the Magnitude of Future Climate Change
The National Academies of the United States have released a new video from the Panel on Limiting the Magnitude of Future Climate Change discussing the conclusions in its report that is one in a series of reports started in May of last year. In the video, members of the panel discuss the need to reduce emissions here in the United States and what is needed to achieve that goal before 2050. The report was part of a collection of reports from the Academies regarding “America’s Climate Choices” which included advancing the science of climate change, limiting its magnitude, adapting to its impacts, and informing an effective response to the issue. The video is the second to be released regarding the reports following one from the Panel on Advancing the Science of Climate Change which was released in September of last year.
